What's On In Wroughton, Wiltshire - December 2012


Christmas Sheep Trail:
Wroughton shepherds want to visit the baby Jesus but some of the Wroughton flock have been lost in the village and the shepherds need some help to find the sheep before they can go! Follow the trail around the shops and find all the names of the sheep and enter the prize draw. There are entry forms in the Parish Church, in the library and in shops where the sheep are hiding.



Wroughton Country Market Christmas Market Saturday 1st December 9:30 til 11:30am at the Ellendune Community Centre.

Wroughton Christmas Lights Saturday 1st December 6pm+ Wroughton Silver Band, Father Christmas. Lights on at 7pm, followed by refreshments in the Church Hall til 8pm.

Sunday 2nd Dec. Christmas Craft Fayre at the BMI Ridgeway Hospital 11-4pm.

Monday 3rd Dec. Dr Keith Hooper gives a presentation in the Wroughton LibraryChristmas Stories of Dickens – The Carol, the Cricket and the Chimes”. 7pm. (Hosted by the Friends of Wroughton Library). Donations welcome for Prospect Hospice.

Remembrance Sunday 11th Nov. The Act of Remembrance starts promptly at 10:54am at the Wroughton War Memorial, just off Wharf Road. Two minutes silence will be observed  with the whole nation at exactly 11:00am. The Wroughton Silver Band, Royal British Legion, Scouts and Guides will parade down the hill from the Parish Church after the earlier Remembrance Sunday Service which starts at 10am. (The church is currently collecting donations of toys & books suitable for children aged 5 & under for The Children's Society project in Swindon).
